Programming & Play
Each Educator is guided by your child's interests in developing a program of learning experiences that will educate and excite them!
Programming is what your Educator will plan to facilitate for your child’s learning throughout the day. Children will participate in Educator-led and child-initiated activities that follow a general routine of outdoor time, group time, indoor play and activities, group music time and rest etc.
Educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (for children under 5) and the My Time Our Place Framework (for children attending school).
Learn about how our Educators plan and record the activities enjoyed by children in their care here: Education & Play.
Because your child will be cared for in a real-life home environment they will enjoy a diverse range of play and real learning experiences like: art and craft, cooking, gardening, music and dressing up. Sometimes activities are planned around a special theme (like Mothers Day or birthdays) and other times they are influenced by the children. We encourage the involvement of parents/carers in the programming and encourage you to talk to your Educator about your child’s interests.
Babies and young children use play to explore and learn about the world around them. Through play, children develop communication, social, emotional and physical skills that are essential to their development. Examples of games you can play with your child to develop these skills can be found here: Educational Games.
